Frontier Corps Organization
Frontier Corps (FC) is a subdivision of the Pakistan Armed Forces and helps to serve the community and fight terrorism in KPK. It provides security to the people of Pakistan and also deals with both military and civil issues within their area of jurisdiction. They specialize in working alone but do receive support from other departments such as getting equipment or finding information about situations that could call for their presence. The FC can be seen on the roads every day either at checkpoints or patrolling areas throughout the day.
The Frontier Corps (FC) is a Pakistani paramilitary force formed in the late 1950s after the Indo-Pakistani War of 1965. It is under the control of Pakistan’s Ministry of Interior and acts as a primary line of defense against external threats in Pakistan’s Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces. They are deployed in FATA (Federally Administered Tribal Areas), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province (formerly known as NWFP during British Rule), and Karachi. General Tariq Khan, serving within the Pakistan Army ranks, traditionally commands the force; although they are increasingly led by army officers due to increasing inter-service rivalry.
